THE MELTING POT OF CULTURE IN SEOUL

GRC - If Hongik University was the talk of the town in 2012 and Gangnam was the hottest spot in 2013, Itaewon is stealing the show in 2014. Itaewon and Yeouido are some of the most interesting places in Seoul. Itaewon is the capital city’s international district, frequented by non-Koreans living in the country. Yeouido is an island on the Hangang and a bustling business district. Fireworks festivals take place at various times during the year. Get a glimpse of life in Seoul by visiting these two very distinct districts in Seoul.
Mayfield Hotel
Mayfield Hotel is where nature meets city in perfect harmony. This is a perfect hotel for tourists who would like to stay somewhere quiet far from the crowded city center. The hotel was featured on My Love from the Star when Jae-kyung (Shin Sung-rok) was arrested by Yu-seok (Oh Sang-jin).
Omokjib
Cheon Song-yi (Jeon Ji-hyun) visits Omokjib in My Love from the Star in a scene where she feels self-conscious about her age with ageless Doh Min-joon (Kim Soo-hyun). Jokbal, or steamed pigs’ feet, are high in collagen and are known to promote youthful skin. Omokjib boils pork hocks with homemade soy bean paste. The restaurant is family-friendly with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Hangang E-Land Cruise
This cruise ship was featured on a scene in My Love from the Star where Cheon Song-yi (Jeon Ji-hyun) attends a party. Doh Min-joon (Kim Soo-hyun) appears out of nowhere when Cheon falls over board. The cruise travels along the Hangang River, with the entire city spreading out before you. There are terminals and piers in Yeouido, Ttukseom, Yanghwa, Seonyudo, Seoul Forest, and Gimpo. It’s an excellent way to get the best view of Seoul.
Seonyudo Park
Miss A member Suzy as well as the regular Running Man cast carried out a mission to take photos of all members of the opposing team at this park. It also featured on EXO’s Showtime when Kai and Su-ho walk through the green park. Seonyudo Park is a patch of rich greenery in the middle of a busy city, making it a fixture on television shows. Although relatively new, the park is immersed in nature. The park’s design utilizes the now-defunct water treatment facilities. Take a leisurely walk through the park for a breath of fresh air.
