Remembering the 2004 Tsunami Aceh Museum

GRCA massive earthquake followed by tsunami waves on December 26, 2004 in Aceh is indeed a major impact on various aspects of community life. How come? There are more than 120,000 deaths and a lot of people are homeless. Tsunami Museum is located at Jalan Iskandar Muda, Banda Aceh. Designed by Ridwan Kamil, who is now the mayor of Bandung, Tsunami Museum has a very attractive appearance for the form Rumoh Aceh, the local customs house stilts, with the concept of building escape hill, which serves as an evacuation in case of a tsunami hazard.
So, what are the contents in the Tsunami Museum? On the first floor, a traveler will enter a narrow hallway with a splashing waterfall and a roar that describes the tsunami waves. This documentation is displayed with attractive, both during pre-tsunami, during the tsunami and post-tsunami. Up to the second floor, a traveler can see the various collections in the form of instructional media, ranging from the library, props, four-dimensional space, and a souvenir shop. Keep in mind, Tsunami Museum is open every day except Friday, with a time of open starting at 10:00 to 12:00 pm and 3:00 p.m. to 17:00 pm.
